Allan Waters

Allan Waters, age 61, of Arnold, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2026. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Allan was a hardworking man who took pride in his family and in the simple things that brought him joy.

As a young man, Allan was a proud veteran, serving in the Marine Corps as an airport liaison. After being honorably discharged, Allan worked as a machinist for Bering Services in RIDC Park and previously worked for Smithfield Foods in Arnold, Pennsylvania, as a line operator. Through his years of work, Allan was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Outside of work, Allan had a few passions that brought him happiness. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and could often be found cheering on his team. He also enjoyed spending time playing Xbox with his friends, sharing laughter and good times. Above all, Allan cherished his family time with his grandchildren. Allan's life was touched by who loved him.

Allan and Jacqueline remained close friends for the next 40 years. Our friendship endured through the many seasons of life, and the bond we shared remained an important part of both their lives.

Allan is survived by his daughter, Quyla Olszewski, and her two sons, Micah Walwyn and Asa Olszewski; his former spouse and lifelong friend, Jacqueline McCarney; stepdaughter Joshellen (Caron) Blackwell, and her children Alaina and Chase; stepdaughter Christian (Troy) Mitchell, and her children Anaysia and Faith.

He is also survived by his siblings, Sidney Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Lori Waters, and LaVerne Thomas.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arthur Mitchell; his sisters, Linda Goree, Mary, and Donna Lowery; and his granddaughter, Novah Mitchell.

Those who knew Allan will remember him for his laughter, love of steak, Brussels sprouts and Mt. Dew. He was an avid and loyal Steelers, enjoyment of time spent with friends, and the memories he created with the people he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May Allan rest peacefully, and may his memory forever be a blessing to his family and friends.

A public viewing will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10 AM - 12 PM at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, PA. (724-335-0100)

Funeral services will be held immediately following at 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
