Arthur Dale Rowles, 58, of New Kensington, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, after a courageous three and a half year battle with cancer.
He was born to the late Genevieve L. Hecker Rowles and Harold Dale Mell. Arthur is survived by his loving siblings, Lynette Rowles Waugh and Calvin Rowles and his wife Tawyna, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Andrea, Walter, and John Rowles.
Art was a graduate of Highlands High School, Class of 1985, and proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years.
He found joy in the simple things, especially caring for his houseplants and tending to the flowers surrounding his home. A devoted dog lover, Art once had as many as four dogs at a time, and most recently leaves behind his beloved companions, Jake and Monkey, now in the care of his sister.
Music was a true passion in Art's life. He taught himself to play the bass guitar at the age of 15 and went on to perform with the band "Molten Steele." He continued playing up until just a few months ago.
Art dedicated many years of hard work as a groundskeeper and caretaker at Union Cemetery in Arnold. He was also employed by Lampus Company, Simpson Reinforcing Inc., and Sam John's Construction, and most recently worked at Allegheny River Terminals until his health no longer allowed.
All arrangements are private and entrusted to Rj Slater IV Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1000 Freeport Rd., New Kensington, PA. Arthur will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park alongside his family.
