Betty Guida Ditchko

Betty Guida Ditchko, age 97, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully with her beloved son Kevin Guida by her side. Born on December 18, 1927, to the late Thomas and Mae Grace Rust, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Dominick (January 1990) and her second husband Nickolas George Ditchko (May 2008). She was also preceded by her sister Dorothy Rentz and her husband William, and her brothers Robert (Margret) Rust of Fayetteville, Georgia, and William Rust (Kate) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio also her sister-in-law Ann Resetar of New Kensington.

Betty is survived by her beloved son Kevin Guida of New Kensington & David Marshall Guida and his wife Stasia Twarowska of Clairton, PA. She is also survived by nephew Bill (Dee) Duncan, nieces Diane (Larry) Ross and Jackie (Bob) Scott, Frank Doherty, Alberta, and Bill Bravin of Altoona.

Betty had a distinguished career at Alcoa in the Engineering Die Drafting Department and later in the Engineering Department at Building 242, where she managed the file room. She also worked in the Administration Department of Citizen’s General Hospital and later in the accounting department at Hart’s, where she forged many enduring friendships. Betty cherished her family, friends, and enjoyed entertaining, baking, traveling, attending music concerts, crafting, listening to her son Kevin play the piano and harpsichord, reading, solving puzzles, and exploring antique shows, auctions, and estate sales with her dear sons and daughter-in-law.

She was a devoted member of Springdale United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Alpha and Omega class in earlier years.

Visitation will be held at RJ Slater Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, PA 15668, on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 11 Am Thursday followed by a burial in Union Cemetery. For more information, visit www.rjslater.com.
