Betty Longo

Betty Longo, 96, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born on June 11, 1929, in New Kensington, to the late Ralph and Catherine Schafer.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late James Longo. She was a devoted mother to Colleen (Keith) Barnes, Keith (Janet) Lasik, Kim Lookabaugh, Jeffrey (Yvone) Longo, Christopher Longo-McNulty and the late Janice McNulty. She was preceded in death by her brother, James (Betty) Schafer. Betty cherished her role as grandmother to Josh Lookabaugh, Justin Lookabaugh, Jeremy Lookabaugh, Ashley Johnson, Gary Mangiantini, Christopher Mangiantini, Sharol Ard, and Neill Worner, and was preceded in death by her grandson Kevin Mangiantini.

A lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, Betty especially loved cheering for the Steelers. She enjoyed camping trips with her husband in Erie, PA, and most of all treasured time spent with her family.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 – 8 PM at RJ Slater Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15668. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM, followed by a private family burial.
