Dale L Walters

Feb 6, 1937 — Jul 20, 2026

Dale L. Walters, Sr., 89, of Apollo, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Born on February 6, 1937, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Oliver and Hetty (Barr) Walters.

Dale was a devoted father whose greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving children, Luke (Laura) Walters, James "J.W." (Bonnie) Walters, Jack (Beth) Walters, and Elizabeth Walters. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale L. Walters, Jr. He also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren and 9 beloved great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

From a young age, Dale worked hard to help support his family. He began his career as a coal miner before later working in the potato processing industry and at a sawmill. As a young man, he had a lifelong love of fishing. He also enjoyed watching football and spending quiet time with his beloved late wife Margaret whose companionship for 65 years meant the world to him. Together, they shared many happy hours playing games and simply enjoying each other's company. In his later years, nothing brought Dale greater happiness than spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of his life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dale's life on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Crooked Creek Presbyterian Church, 136 Creek Church Road, Ford City, PA 16226. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a fellowship gathering in the church social hall.

Dale's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068. Phone: 724-335-0100. Online condolences may be shared at www.rjslater.com.
