Darla Donette Wolfe, 66, originally from Freeport, Pa. went home to be with the Lord after a long
and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Monday February 27, 2023. She was born
August 16, 1956, to the late William Davis and Kathleen Metzler. Her passions included
decorating her home for the Christmas holiday, crafting, and making every birthday celebration
special for her loved ones. She also enjoyed riding the UTV with her husband around their camp
in the hills of Templeton. She loved the Lord with all her heart and allowed His light to shine
through her as she comforted her residents at Longwood, at Oakmont, where she worked as an
Administrative Secretary for 20 plus years.
She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Frederick V Wolfe, her children, Frederick Wolfe II
of Home, PA, Christina (Mark) Venanzio of Lower Burrell, PA, and Alexandra Wolfe (Frank Ellis)
of Home, PA, grandchildren Allision Wolfe, John Wolfe, Forrest Primm III, and Julia Primm. She
is also survived by her Uncle Joseph Haj, sisters Yvonne (Dennis) Wolfe and Kathy (Daryl)
Haught, along with many nieces and nephews of whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in
death by her father William Davis, mother Kathleen Metzler, and her aunt Nancy Haj.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the River Church located at 200 Freeport Rd, New
Kensington at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Service will be officiated by Pastor Daniel
Carver. A lunch will be provided at the Lower Burrell Fire Hall located at 3255 Leechburg Rd.,
Lower Burrell following the service.
