David William Stoklosa

August 11, 1951 — February 3, 2026

David William Stoklosa, 74 of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 3, 2026 surrounded by love after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Born in Indiana Hospital on August 11, 1951 to the late Stephen and Catherine Stoklosa, David was the younger brother to Theodore "Ted" and the late Stephen, and older brother to Monica "Nikki."

David met the love of his life, Betsy, at a wedding in 1973. Two years later on September 27, 1975, they exchanged their own vows, beginning a legacy of love, family, and friendship. David's greatest joy in life was his family. He was the true definition of a "family man," never missing the opportunity to attend his grandchildren's sporting and school events, sharing a drink with his son and daughter, or attending Pirates games with his wife. A man of simple pleasures, David could often be found sitting around a fire with a cold beer or bourbon, good friends, and endless laughter. He enjoyed visiting local eateries with live entertainment and could strike up a conversation with anyone in the room-he truly never met a stranger. David was a man of few requests, asking for nothing more than "peace, quiet, and contentment."

David was a 1969 graduate of Blairsville High School and earned his nursing degree from Citizens School of Nursing in 1973. He spent 46 years caring for those at Citizens General Hospital, later Citizens Urgent Care, until his retirement in 2019. He served as a member of the Citizens General Hospital Foundation Board, was an active member on the Board of Directors for Choice Child Care, a daycare center that served the local community, and previously served as the Director of Arnold Ambulance Services. David was co-owner of EMS Partner Services, a role he proudly shared with his wife.

Left to celebrate his memory are his best friend and adoring wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Betsy," daughter Kimberly (Brian) Thorsen, son David (Cara) Stoklosa, and four grandchildren who endlessly loved their Dzedo: Braden and Cameron Thorsen & DeLaney and Eliza Stoklosa. David is also survived by his brother Theodore "Ted" (Judith) Stoklosa, sister Monica "Nikki" (Robert) Craig, sisters-in-law Patricia Stoklosa & Carol Jenesky, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and numerous close colleagues and friends.
