Dayna Namey

Dayna J. Namey, 72, of Lower Burrell, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017.  She was the beloved daughter of the late Abraham "Bud" and Alice (Bettor) Namey.  Dayna is survived by many cousins. She taught elementary music in the Warren County School District for 30 years and also directed the community musical theaters.  Dayna was exceptional in music, art, stained glass and crafts, and she loved setting up extraordinary Christmas themes in her own home every year.  She took great joy in spending time with her cousins' children.  As a life member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, she was always willing to help, whether it be baking for the church, Myrrh Bearing Women's Society, singing in the choir or running the St. George Food Bank.  Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until the time of the Trisagion service at noon Saturday at St. George Orthodox Church with Father Meletios Zafaran officiating.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 724-335-0100, New Kensington.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dayna's name to the St. George Building Fund, 1150 Leishman Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068. www.rjslater.com.
