Debra Prati

Debra L. Prati, 64, of Apollo, passed away on Oct. 10, 2020, at home, with her family by her side. The daughter of Harold Chrimes and Marie McDaniel, Debra was born on June 6, 1956, in Braddock. She was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, Class of 1975. After 18 years of working at the PPG South Greensburg windshield factory she continued her education at California University of PA, where she received her associate's degree in accounting. She continued her professional career working at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Comptroller Operations, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed traveling and cruising with her husband prior to and during retirement. Highlights included Alaska, the Caribbean, England, Italy, France, Transatlantic, Panama Canal Transit, Portugal, Spain, and Norway. Her latest trip to England included a 10 day visit at the home of friends she met while cruising. She also enjoyed various hobbies. Including photography, reading, counted cross stitch, stained glass, tole painting, beading and stamping. She enjoyed watching and photographing the abundance of wildlife in our yard. She posted the photographs to Facebook for others to enjoy as well.
Left to cherish Debra's memory are her husband, Arthur J.Prati; mother Marie McDaniel of Apollo; brothers, Harold (Nancy) Chrimes, Jr. of Roanoke VA; David Chrimes of Penn Hills; Dwayne (Tracy) Chrimes of Apollo; nephews, Billy (Amanda) Chrimes, Michael Chrimes, Nicholas Chrimes; nieces, Becky Chrimes, Amy (Jason) Kingery, Jordan Chrimes; and her husband's nephews and nieces, Walter Friedhof, Norma Jean (Jim) Lipari, Claire Prati, Thomas Frantz, Albert Witmyer, Laura (Doug) Luckock and William Prati.
Due to pandemic restrictions a celebration of her life will be announced in 2021. Arrangements are being handled by RJ Slater IV Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Kensington Pa 15068.
