Diana Rebold, 73, of New Kensington
Diana Rebold (Jan. 16, 1951-Aug. 4, 2024) was known for her compassionate nature, giving spirit and putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
She was raised in Springdale where she was born to Bernadette and Edward Rebold, who both preceded her in death.
Diana obtained her licensed practical nursing degree at the Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing in New Kensington then worked at what was then known as Magee-Womens Hospital (now UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital) in Pittsburgh, where she cared for newborn babies. Diana also worked at the Harmarville Rehabilitation Hospital before moving to California for the next 35 years.
In California, Diana obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Ecology from the University of California-Irvine.
She later also taught English to immigrants.
Diana returned to Springdale in 2014 and, for the last nine years, had made her home in New Kensington.
At the time of her death, Diana was employed by Wesley Family Services in O’Hara Township as an aide. She enjoyed her job and, especially, surprising her clients with little toys or gifts she would purchase of her own volition.
Diana loved books and reading, in general, exercising – especially taking long walks – and shopping.
Diana is survived by her life partner of nine years, Robert Helsley; four siblings, Audrey (John) Sabatini, Bernice Andolina, Carole (Richard) Sheldon, and David (Robin) Rebold; and several nieces and nephews.
Diana is deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the R.J. Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068, followed by a brief pastoral prayer service officiated by the Rev. John Bailey.
