Donna Lee (Smith) Capone, 80, of New Kensington, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, with her three daughters by her side. She was born July 24, 1941, to Edna Lucille (Carter) Smith, in Natrona Heights, and resided most of her life in New Kensington. Donna was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, and the Masonic Blue Slipper Club. Her career included working as a home health aide for Allegheny County, the Valley News Dispatch and most recently as a cafeteria worker for the New Kensington-Arnold School District, from where she retired in 2018. Donna loved cooking, baking, word searches, coloring and camping with her husband and family in her younger years, but her true avocation was spending time with her grandsons. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters, Deborah M. (Charles J.) Smith, of Arnold, Denise A. (Jon R.) Iellimo, of Arnold, and Diana B. (Richard M.) Bielata, of Lower Burrell; her four grandsons, Robert Sutara, Jesse and Jeremy Iellimo and Matthew Bielata; her brother, Walter Darryl (Linda) Smith, of Smithfield; her sister, Deborah (Smith) (Fred) DeRubeis, of Elizabeth; and her sister-in-law, Linda Smith, of Apollo. Donna was preceded in death by her mother, mentioned above; her husband, Patsy P. Capone, on June 2, 2021; her sister, Francine (Smith) Beighley; and two brothers, James and Ronald Smith. Family and friends will be received from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, and from 11 a.m. until the time of a blessing service at noon Saturday, April 23, in the RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME AND CREAMATION SERVICE, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-335-0100. Committal ceremonies and entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
