Dorothy M. (Macino) Litterio, 95, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on December 24th at home, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy, affectionately known as “Mom,” was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many.
Born December 3, 1929, in Vandergrift, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Bucci) Macino. A lifelong resident of the area, Dorothy embraced her community and lived a life filled with love and purpose.
Dorothy treasured her family above all else and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including shopping, crossword puzzles, reading, and, most especially, sharing breakfast outings with family and friends. She was also a trailblazing entrepreneur, founding Sir James Printing in September 1974. Dorothy successfully operated the business on her own for many years, and it continues to thrive over five decades later—a testament to her hard work and determination.
Known for her zest for life, Dorothy loved people-watching, meeting new friends wherever she went, and hosting unforgettable family Christmas celebrations. She truly lived each day to the fullest, always surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jim (Michele) Litterio and Linda Litterio, both of Lower Burrell; her beloved grandsons, Anthony and Christian Litterio; her sister, Carrie (Macino-Cherre) Plumbo; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo A. Litterio, and her brother, Richard Macino.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, January 4th, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Blessing Service at 11:00 AM at RJ Slater Funeral Home & Cremation Service. 1000 Freeport Rd New Kensington, PA 724-335-0100
