Emanuel F. Rozpierski, 91, of New Kensington, died Monday, April 22, 2024 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born October 12, 1932 in New Kensington son of the late Frank and Hattie (Zaleski) Rozpierski and was a life long resident of the area.
Prior to his retirement, Emanuel was employed by Kaufmann’s Department Store where he worked as a retail interior designer and even served as the store’s Santa for a number of busy holiday shopping seasons.
Manny was an avid gardener and a talented decorator. He enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, and in his healthier years the game of golf. He delighted in combing the neighborhood and making friends while riding his electric wheelchair.
He was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington where for a number of years, he along with others, took great pride in decorating the church at Christmas.
Emanuel was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth J. “Betty” Rozpierski and great niece, Laura Sosovicka. Survivors include sister, Bernadette Sosovicka of Springdale, nephews David (Janet) Sosovicka and Mark (Lynn) Sosovicka. His family wishes to thank neighbors, Tony and Roxyann Mandak, for the helping hand they gave Manny over the years.
Arrangements are by R.J. Slater IV Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass held on Friday May 3rd at 11 AM in St. Mary’s Church, New Kensington, with the Rev Joel A. Sayson officiating, with private burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell.
