Eugene C Rubinosky

Eugene C. Rubinosky, 80, of Lower Burrell passed away on January 15, 2026, in Hillcrest Rehab Health & Care Center, Lower Burrell.

He was born May 30, 1945, in New Kensington to the late Walter and Cecelia (Kozlowski) Rubinosky. Eugene was raised in Arnold, graduated from Arnold High School in 1963, and after working in Johnstown, upon marriage he moved to Lower Burrell and resided there for 47 years.

Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He served as a navycorpsman and pharmacy technician. Upon returning home, he earned his degree in pharmacy from Duquesne and his master’s degree in exercise physiology from Pitt.

Mr. Rubinosky was a member of the St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, the American Legion Post of Lower Burrell and the Moose Lodge of Lower Burrell

Eugene was a pharmacist for Thrift Drug, St. Francis Hospital and mail order pharmacy in Harmarville, for over 25 years, prior to his retirement in 2002. Upon retirement he took a part-time position for the PT Group and Snap Fitness to remain active. He loved working out at the gym, football, baseball, reading, and truly enjoyed vacationing in North Carolina and Maine.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Olivia C. (Conocchia) Rubinosky of 47 years, whom he married on December 2, 1978, his brother, Larry Rubinosky of North Carolina, his two nephews, Daniel and Michael Rubinosky, his brother-in-law, Nello Dreone, and his dog, Charlie.

He was preceded in death his parents, mentioned above, and a sister-in-law, Denise Dreon.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Jan 21st from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in theRJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington (724-335-0010) where a parting prayer service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 22nd at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am in St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington with the Reverend as celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Arnold.
