Evelyn Harter

Evelyn G. (Cable) Harter, a beloved resident of New Kensington, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the age of 99 1/2. She was born on March 24, 1924, in New Kensington, to the late Frank and Grace (Yund) Cable. A graduate of Ken-Hi, Evelyn's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and dedication to her community.

Evelyn was a devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington, actively participating in numerous church groups and activities. Her strong commitment to her faith was evident in her involvement and enthusiasm for church life.

Left to cherish her memory are her nephews, Rich (Lois) Cable of Sarver, and Larry (Kathy) Vogel of Fort Worth Tx.; step-grandsons Harry Harter of Utah and Henry Harter of Washington State and many other nieces and nephews. Evelyn's impact on her family was immeasurable.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Cardon, loving siblings, Wayne L. Cable, Neal L. Cable, Donald L. Cable, Russell E. Cable, Jean L. Vogel, and Ruth L. Cable. She now joins them in eternal rest, reunited with those she held dear in her heart.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation hours on Tuesday, from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm, and on Wednesday, from 10 am until the time of the funeral ceremonies at 11:00 am at RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, located at 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington (724-335-0010).

Evelyn will find her final resting place in the serene Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough, where she will rest alongside her departed loved ones.
