Francis Hastie

Francis Richard (Rick) Hastie III, age 64, died peacefully on Tuesday May 14, 2019 from natural causes. Rick, son of the late Francis Richard (Dick) Hastie and Margery Kilroy Hastie (Rogers), born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, attended college at the University of Pittsburgh, married Maura McDermott and moved to Virginia where he opened and operated his own Real Estate appraisal business for 29 years.  Rick, a lover of the outdoors, often took “long walks” by himself and with his dogs and would swim in the lake in Prince William State Park.  He was a lifelong Steelers fan.  Rick is survived by his daughters, Brenna and Katherine, grandson Easton, step son Colin, siblings Mark (Maryjo) Hastie, Nan (Bill) Hastie (Sweede), Matthew Hastie, aunt Jane Kilroy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Arrangements entrusted to RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd., New Kensington (724-335-0100).   Online condolences can be made at www.rjslater.com.
