Gary Luffy

Gary Kevin Luffy, 62, of Apollo, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on April 7, 1963, in New Kensington, Gary was the son of Marjorie and James Luffy. He married his high school sweetheart, Jodi (Britton) Luffy, and together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage and raised two children, Wendy (Eric) Shook and Gary R. Luffy Jr. (Meredyth).

In recent years, Gary found companionship with his fiancée, Beth Ehrlich, and their beloved dogs, Mickey and Trixie. He had a special love for his beagles and enjoyed training them for field trials, proudly celebrating Boone's title as a field champion.

Gary was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren, whom he adored: Eric, Gavin, Kooper, Owen, Joey, Micah, Carly, Jacob, Cecilia, and Ada. He is also survived by his siblings Linda (Jinx) Springfield, Patti Fontain, and Jim (Leslie) Luffy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jodi (2020), his sister Diane (1956), and his parents Marjorie (2014) and James (2023).

Gary worked as an Electro-Mechanical Technician at Siemens for 15 years. Prior to that, he operated a hardscaping business and co-owned Jodi's BP in Upper Burrell alongside his wife.

A private cremation will take place, with no public services planned. Gary would want to be remembered with a story on his tongue and a beer in his hand-just as he lived.
