Helen Marlane (Sweet) Antal, 85, of Allegheny Township, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at UPMC St. Margaret's.
Born to the late Harry and Genevieve Sweet, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, John "Jack" P. Antal.
Helen was the loving mother of John (Barb) Antal and Lori Meixelsberger, and the proud grandmother of Matthew, Shasta, and Kayla. She also had a special bond with her nephew James Eiler and his wife, Poppy.
A dedicated homemaker in her early years, Helen lovingly supported her family until her children graduated. She then spent 11 fulfilling years working with Family Services of Western Pennsylvania before retiring in 2004.
Helen was known for her incredible baking skills, particularly the Christmas cookies she made every year, which became a cherished family tradition. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband, reading, and cheering on the Steelers and Penguins.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, John M. Antal II, and her brother, Edward Sweet.
