Irene Owsiany

Irene F. Owsiany, 94, of Lower Burrell, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on March 7, 2024. She was born on January 5, 1930, in Arnold, to the late Stanley and Stella (Grybos) Owsiany. Irene was preceded in death by her siblings Josephine Kocon, Bernice Shutak, Jane Davidowski, Florence Kowalski, Carol Vigilanti, and Edward Owsiany. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene dedicated 25 years of her life to Edgewater Steel in Oakmont before transitioning to Saint Margaret’s Hospital medical library, where she worked until retirement. In her later years, she found fulfillment in volunteering for UPMC.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 8, at 10 AM in Saint Margaret Mary Church, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lower Burrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s honor to Saint Jude's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
