Preston "Jack" Brewer, 84, resident of Lower Burrell (Westmoreland County), peacefully departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital. Born on March 30, 1939, in Sturgis, Kentucky, Preston was the cherished child of the late Preston and Grace (Patrick) Brewer.
A patriot through and through, Jack served his country with honor in the U.S. Army from June 1958 to May 1965. His unwavering faith in the Baptist tradition provided him with strength and solace throughout his life. Jack excelled as a Sales Manager in the automobile industry for over 40 years, leaving an indelible mark on various dealerships.
A fisherman, Jack never lost his deep-rooted love for the South, where he was born and raised. He found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending his afternoons immersed in his beloved "Westerns."
Jack is survived by his two loving daughters, Laurie (Rick) Pujol of New Kensington and Susan Barbieri (David Krafick) of Leechburg. His three grandchildren, Andrew (Chelsea) Pujol, Rebecca (Brandon) Knotts, and The Rev. Father Christopher Pujol, who brought immense joy to his life, as did his two great-granddaughers, Lydia Pujol and Harper Knotts. Jack is also survived by his first wife, Dolores (Petitta) Brewer of New Kensington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Louise Marie Brewer, his second wife, Sue Brewer, his brothers Gene, Bill, and Dorris Brewer, and his sister Earlene Shoffner.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, December 21st, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington(724-335-0010). Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 22nd, officiated by Reverend Jonathan D Hill, Pastor of Union Baptist Church, Kittanning and Fr. Pujol. Committal services and burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
