In Loving Memory of Jacquelyn Dee "Jackie" Wilks
Jacquelyn Dee "Jackie" Wilks, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, at her home in Lower Burrell, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 5, 1934, in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, to the late Arthur and Lillian (Dawson) Mills. Jackie was a beloved wife and a devoted mother, and she is now reunited with her late husband, Jack T. Wilks Sr.
Jackie is survived by her four loving children: Jack (Bonnie) Wilks Jr, Richard E. (Brenda) Wilks, Randal L. (Sharon) Wilks, and Kathy (Jeffrey Maxwell) Wilks-Ravetto. She was a cherished sister to Joyce Robinson and Edith Walker, and she was preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita McGinnis, Betty Adams, Nelle Mae Scherf, June Rowe, Dolores Evans, and Thomas E. Mills.
Jackie was a proud and doting grandmother to Thomas (Morgan) Wilks, Travis (Angie) Wilks, Richard Wilks, Alexis (Ryan) Tracey, Erin (Bryan) Holsing, Mallory (Christopher) Lott, Jennifer (Lee) Smith, and Shawna Dawn Ravetto. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
A devout member of the Bethel United Methodist Church of Lower Burrell, Jackie found joy in many simple pleasures in life. She was known for her culinary talents, her ability to preserve vegetables through canning, and her skilled hand in crocheting beautiful blankets and quilts. Jackie had a passion for birdwatching and relished every moment she spent observing the world around her. However, what mattered most to her was the precious time she shared with her beloved grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Jackie Wilks will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Bethel United Methodist Church of Lower Burrell, where she found solace and community.
