James Edgar

James T. Edgar Sr. was called on by the angels on February 8, 2021, to go through Heaven's Golden Door. Jim passed unexpectedly at Allegheny General Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born in Citizens General Hospital in New Ken on November 20, 1945, to the late James A. and Mary (McIntire) Edgar. Loving husband of Linda (Zarisky) Edgar of 54 years; father of James (Christine) Edgar Jr., and Sharon (Jeff) Horneman; grandfather of Daniel, Derek, Courtney, Nico, Ben, and great-grandfather of Allie. Brother of Gary (Sandy) Edgar, Ron Edgar, and many nieces and nephews. Jim's life revolved around his grandchildren and great-grandchild; they were his pride and joy. He will also be missed by his best friends Joe Zarisky and Greg Ambrose, and his dogs Ziggy and Abby.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings Donna Shaner, Mary M. Cornish, Henry, Bob, Jack, Ray, and Don Edgar. Jim was a roofer working most of his career with the Local Roofers Union #37. He took extreme pride in his work and was also skilled in many other trades.
Jim loved to sing, dance, watch sports and work around his home. He was always up for going to Sheetz for his coffee and lottery tickets. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, on Thursday from 1-3 & 6–7:30 p.m. with a service to follow in our chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Dean Ward.
