Janice (Wicks) Caliguri, 72, of New Kensington lived with relentless love for her family and unwavering hope. She faced her cancer journey with extraordinary strength and resilience. On May 8, 2025, with her sons by her side, her suffering ended.
Jan was born October 9, 1952 in Arnold, PA to Albert and Mary Jane (Overly) Wicks. She had 2 brothers, Albert "Corky" Wicks Jr., and William (Toni Lynn) Wicks.
Jan graduated from Valley High School in 1970, and married Darcy Caliguri of Lower Burrell in 1977. They raised two sons, Jason and Joshua. Together they operated Fashion Optical in Lower Burrell for 34 years before retiring together in 2011.
Jan was immensely proud to be "Grammy" to her 3 amazing grandchildren, Macin, Declan, and Finnian and devoted much of her time to watching the little ones...and keeping their Pap-pap out of trouble.
When she wasn't busy doing Grammy stuff, she enjoyed spending time taking her Mother to the Casino, and usually winning. She also loved watching "her Penguins" play hockey, and recapping the games with her grandson, Declan. Of course, she was also a Steelers fan, and enjoyed screaming at the TV on Sundays.
Jan is survived by her Mother, Mary Jane Wicks, of Arnold, her two sons, Jason (Gina) of Whitehall, Joshua, of Shaler, 3 grandsons, Macin (Jillian) Watson, of Bethel Park, Declan Caliguri, and Finnian Caliguri of Whitehall.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Darcy Caliguri, a daughter, Courtney Caliguri, as well as her Father, Albert Wicks, and her Brothers, Albert Wicks Jr., and William Wicks.
