John Chiappetta

John R. "RIC" Chiappetta, 74, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

He was born on April 11, 1951, in New Kensington, and was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Ann (Wassberg) Chiappetta.

Ric was the devoted husband of Christine DeZort. He was a loving father to Collin Chiappetta and the late Karly Chiappetta, and Eric Chiappetta. He was also a caring stepfather to Christi DeZort, James DeZort III, Jacob DeZort (Ally), and Joshua DeZort (Karianne).

He was a doting grandfather to Max, Marlee, Maddison, and Johnie, and a proud uncle to Ashley.

Ric is survived by his brother, Jimmy Chiappetta, and was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Chiappetta.

Ric was a true music fanatic who found joy in playing in his two golf leagues, spending time at the ocean, and tinkering and inventing things around the house. Above all else, Ric will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family and grandchildren, and for the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kinloch VFD, Lower Burrell VFC No. 1, located at 915 New York Avenue, New Kensington, PA 15068.
