John Pietryka, 74, of Apollo, passed away on September 3, 2023. Born in New Kensington to Chester and Betty Pietryka, John was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army, receiving two Bronze Star Medals for his bravery.
John dedicated much of his life to the coal mining industry, leaving a lasting impact. He was a devoted member of VFW 92 and American Legion 868.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Nix, and stepchildren, Chase and Brooke Nix of New York, as well as his son, Jason Baxter, and siblings Chet Pietryka, Terry Bauman, and Marianne Beverage.
