John Pujol

Albert “John” Pujol, 65, of New Kensington, succumbed to cancer after a courageous 6 year battle, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family on March 15, 2022. He was born January 12, 1957 to the late Alberto and Martha Pujol.

John is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Michelle of 43 years; his children Bryan (Jody) Pujol and Ashley Pujol; brothers Richard (Laurie) Pujol and Ray (Suzanne) Pujol; brother-in-law Michael (Leigh) Shamey; nieces and nephews Andy (Chelsea) Pujol, Rebecca (Brandon) Knotts, Rev. Mr. Christopher Pujol, Cley Pujol, and Samuel Shamey; great nieces Lydia Pujol and Harper Knotts, as well as his many close friends.

John cherished his family and friends more than words could ever express. He was an incredible husband. The joke was that he and Michelle never left the hill without each other. He was an avid sports fan, an amazing coach and an incredibly supportive father to his children in all of their endeavors. He went out of his way to make people feel his love and support. He proved, time and time again, that he was the strongest guy around. Anyone that met John was inspired by him in some way. John will be truly missed by all of the hearts he touched.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his In-Laws, Michael and Jo Anne Shamey; sister, Martha “Martica” Pujol; brother-in-law Mark Shamey; and sister-in-law Kathleen Pujol.

John’s family would like to thank the amazing oncology/radiology team at Hillman that kept his fight alive, as well as the incredible staff at Bridges Hospice.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rj Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service 1000 Freeport Rd New Kensington. Prayers of transfer will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mount Saint Peter Church at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park Lower Burrell.
