Kathleen Ann (Hurst) Ozepy, 80, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 12th, 2023. Mrs. Ozepy was born on June 8th, 1943, to the late Milton L Hurst and Kathleen Sarsfield Hurst. She was a lifelong resident of New Kensington (“Momma O” of Frog Hollow) and Ft. Lauderdale until Hurricane Katrina. Kathy was a graduate of Ken-Hi of New Kensington. She worked at Haskell’s Manufacturing of Pittsburgh until retirement. She was preceded in her death by her parents, as well as her son Joseph “JD” Ozepy and Son-in-Law Keith L. Waugh Sr.
Kathy loved helping others and volunteering her time to the homeless. She enjoyed gardening, long phone calls with all her friends, flea markets, and yard sales. Kathy was always ready to go, from an early Sunday morning yard sale to traveling around the country. Kathy also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time at her pool. She was a woman of many hats. Most of all, Kathy adored her grandchildren, that brought her so much joy.
To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her children Natalie Ozepy Matar-Raachini, Jacqueline Ozepy Kuhn, and Leonard “Lemon” Ozepy (Anne Jarusinski), all of New Kensington; and her brother Thomas (Kathleen Leslie) Hurst of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, which she adored the most; Bethany Ozepy, Jason Kuhn, Corey Ozepy, Keith Waugh Jr, Tyler Ozepy, John Kuhn, Iziah Waugh, Kaitlin (Gabriel) Golding, and Paige (Ricky) Kuhn. As well as her great-grandchildren Ary’Ana, Cooper, Elaina, and Deon. Kathleen (Hurst) Ozepy “KO” will be missed by the many who knew and treasured her, including her beloved rescue cat, Oliver.
