January 3, 1940 – September 4, 2025

Kathleen Ann Kohut Shrader, born on January 3, 1940, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved daughter of Francis and Eugenia (Guignet) Kohut.

Kathleen graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1957 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Citizen’s General Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a registered nurse at Citizen’s General Hospital from 1960 to 1968. Her compassionate nature continued to shine through her work with Dr. G. R. Scheid and Dr. R. A. Leydig in Lower Burrell from 1980 to 1987, and later at Citizen’s Family Healthcare in Creighton, Pennsylvania from 1987 to 1990.

Beyond her professional life, Kathleen found joy in being a devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother.

She cherished time spent traveling, creating ceramics, and caring for her beloved dogs, Sam and Shadow.

Kathleen is survived by her two daughters, Kelly (Daniel) Berardo of Ellington, Connecticut, and Leigh Ann (Clark) McBroom of Kissimmee, Florida; six grandchildren, Rachyl(Brian) Behrens, Joshua and Jacob Berardo, Caleb, Chase, and Makenna McBroom; her brother Nathan Kohut of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Eugenia Kohut; her husband, Stanley Glen Shrader; and her son, Randy Shrader.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.

Kathleen will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
