Kathryn ("Katy Dawn" Corley) Nee, 70, died Sunday, November 5, 2023 surrounded by her
family. She was a resident of Lower Burrell. Born March 15, 1953 in Elkins, WV, Katy was the
daughter of the late Arnett Browne and Mary Evelyn (Carpenter) Corley. Katy attended West
Virginia schools and was a graduate of West Virginia University, where she met her forever
partner in crime, Tom. She was employed by American Greetings as a merchandiser for 22
years.

Katy loved the Lord and her family dearly. Katy was a member of Grace Community Presbyterian
Church. She was an avid cruciverbalist, an expert Scrabbler, and a recent Sudoku convert. She
had a keen eye for design and detail. She enjoyed antiquing and furnishing her home with her
finds.

Katy is survived by her loving son, Nigel (Lili) of Gainesville, VA and her loving daughter,
Mekenzee of Pittsburgh; brothers Sonny (Cathy) of Elkview, WV, Craig (Hilda) of Gloucester, VA,
Mike (late Linda) of Lewisburg, WV; sister, Mary Jo (Papa) Jones of Dunbar, WV; sister-in-law
Patty (Jim) Yeschenko of Harmarville; Beverly Young of Gallipolis, OH; brother-in-law Jim
Coleman of Lewisburg, WV; many nieces and nephews; and her cherished dachshund, Henri. In
addition to her parents, Katy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Tom;
her stepmother, Avanelle Young Corley; her sister-in-law, Linda Knupp Corley; stepbrother, Lin
Young; and stepsister, Nancy Coleman.

Her children were blessed to have such an attentive, patient, and thoughtful mother. They will
remember her as the best mother ever. Such extraordinary pain for such extraordinary love.
They take comfort knowing that Katy and Tom were finally together again for their 47th
wedding anniversary (November 6).
