Kevin L. McKee, 57, of Leechburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 4:25 am at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA, with his family by his side. Kevin was born on July 19, 1964, in New Kensington, PA, to his late parents Melvin E. McKee and Donna I. (Blystone) McKee. He grew up in Gilpin Township and was a 1982 graduate of Leechburg High School. Kevin went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1983 through 1987, with a tour in Beirut. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leechburg and a carpenter by trade, working for many local contractors in the area. His most recent employer was Kiski Current LLC.
Kevin enjoyed helping his family and friends with home projects. If he wasn’t working on a project, Kevin enjoyed camping, fishing, watching the Steelers, shooting pool with friends, and spending time with family. He was a proud member of the American Legion in Schenley, Hungarian Club of Leechburg, Sokol Club of Leechburg, and the Alle Kiski Men’s Pool League & Kiski River Area TAP League.
Kevin leaves behind his daughter Sara McKee (granddaughter Charlie) of Leechburg, son’s Dan (Gretchen) Cash (grandchildren Olivia & Gabriel) of Leechburg, Gary (Jackie) Patterson and their daughter, Ed (Cassie) Rhodes, and their two daughters, sister Patty (Jim) Coleman of Allegheny Twp., nephews Michael (Ali) Canaan of Allegheny Twp., and Keith (Heather) Klingensmith of Tarentum. He also leaves behind his Loving Companion Rhonda Shellhammer, and his extended family Tommy Funkhouser, Lindsey and Sean Flickinger, Kayla (Zachary Petrak) Spisak (children Olivia & Maci),: many cousins, aunts, uncles, and a special cousin, James McKee. Along with his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Gary “Bear” Klingensmith (2007), nephew Jeff Canaan (2010), and his sister Christine Klingensmith (2021).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2 pm at the West Leechburg Fire Hall, 1116 Gosser St, Leechburg, PA 15656
