Leroy King

May 23, 1935 — February 1, 2025

Leroy G. King, 88, of Lower Burrell, PA died at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 with his family by his side. Leroy was born on Saturday, May 23, 1936 in New Kensington to the late Thomas B. and Oneida G. (Shank) King.  Leroy graduated in 1954 before serving in the Marine Corps for 4 years.  Upon leaving the Marines, he served and retired as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserves in New Kensington. Leroy worked for Burrell School District as a janitor and school bus driver then as a maintenance mechanic for the government.  Leroy was an active member and board member of the First Church of God; he was also a member of the American Legion and VFW, all of Lower Burrell.  Leroy was an avid lover of the outdoors - he enjoyed woodworking, maintaining his yard, hunting, fishing, boating and traveling.

Leroy is survived by his daughter: Sharon (Randal) Wilks of Lower Burrell; his granddaughters: Erin (Bryan) Holsing of Lower Burrell, Ashley (Corey) Carnahan of Oakwood, OH, Mallory (Christopher) Lott of Lower Burrell, and Rachel (Daniel) Jarvis of Pinehurst, TX; 13 Great-Grandchildren and his sister: Sandra L. King of Lower Burrell.

In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his wife: Selva Jean (Miller) King; his son: Randy G. King; and his siblings: Walter, Thomas, Benjamin King and Audrey (King) Mattern.
