Madelyn Santoro, 83, of Lower Burrell, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Cheswick, Pa, on June 7, 1939, to the late Chester and Mary (Sholhead) Aleskowsz. Beloved wife of the late Francis S. Santoro
Madelyn is survived by her son David (Nicole) Santoro and daughter Dana (John) Arce; Mam Maw to Justin, Jeffrey, Shaley, Tylere, Samuel, Ava, Nicholas, and two great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Chester and Carl Aleskowsz and her twin sister Evelyn (Bill) Morse. Madelyn will be missed by her dear neighbors Debbie & Nick Mangini and beloved friends, who were like sisters to her, Patty R., Connie H., and Patty K.
Madelyn worked at Cheswick Barbecue before its closing and then went on to work for over 30 years serving families at Hill Crest Country Club. She will be remembered by all who loved her for her fantastic sense of humor and laughter. Two of her greatest joys were having family dinners on Sundays and playing poker with her daughter and son-in-law.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, September 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd., New Kensington. 724-335-0100. A private burial will be held at Deer Creek Cemetery, where Madelyn will be laid to rest beside her husband.
