Mattalin Mary Smith, 62, of Arnold, passed away on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Kensington on March 26, 1961, to the late Stanley and Elanie (Boucher) Phillips.
Mattalin was the cherished wife of Mark Farneth for 25 beautiful years. She was a devoted stepmother to Mark Jr. (Jessica), Nick, and the late Matthew and Kahleen Farneth. Mattalin found joy in her role as a step-grandmother to Presley, Nathan, Matthew, and Dalauna.
She was a beloved sister to Ron Phillips, Rene (Gigela) Phillips, Stanley Phillips, and the late Rise Varshine. Mattalin also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
With a compassionate spirit, Mattalin dedicated 17 years of her life as a registered nurse in labor and delivery, touching the lives of many with her care and kindness. In her leisure time, she found solace in crafting, a hobby that brought her immense joy.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Rd, New Kensington, on Thursday from 5–8 pm.
Mattalin will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
