Neil D. Smith, 58, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2025, with his beloved wife Amy and his loyal Doodle, Pixie, by his side.
Born August 17, 1967, in Ramsgate, England, to David and Linda (Daniels) Smith, Neil was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Amy (Shaw) Smith; his parents, David and Linda Smith; his children, Daniel Smith, Oliver Smith, Jake Finney, and Kurt Huckstep; his stepson, Alex Lee; his sisters, Donna Smith and Claire Smith; and his cherished granddaughters, Caroline Lee, Lilith Smith, Konnie Smith, and Hallie Smith.
Neil lived life with courage, having become a U.S. citizen while undergoing cancer treatments. He held a black belt in karate, which he loved both practicing and teaching. He was an avid fan of Liverpool Football Club, adored classic VW Beetles, and cherished quiet moments on the back porch watching birds, especially the hummingbirds.
Neil will be missed dearly by his family across the U.S. and England. He will never be forgotten, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is at peace and free from pain.
In accordance with Neil’s wishes, there will be no viewings or services. Funeral arrangements entrusted to RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068.
