Obituary for Oren J. Keibler (June 11, 1932 - May 24, 2024)
Oren J. Keibler, 91, of Washington Township, PA, was peacefully called home, surrounded by his family, on May 24. He was born on June 11, 1932, to Joseph and Cora Keibler on their family farm. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and three sisters.
Oren was a graduate of Washington Township High School. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the US Army. He spent most of his working years at Union Spring in New Kensington, PA. Additionally, he owned a sawmill where he cut lumber for making pallets and boxes that he sold to local companies.
Oren married Anna Mae, his beloved wife, in 1958. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was also proud to be referred to as “other dad” and "pap" by some neighbors who became part of our family.
Oren had a very strong faith. He loved God and his family and was a loyal friend. He led by example and taught his family the value of hard work. He was well known for his ability to fix or build anything. When he wasn’t working in his garage, he enjoyed bowling and fishing with his buddies. He also enjoyed meeting his friends from his graduating class for breakfast. Oren will be remembered for his humorous nature. He loved to tease others, tell jokes, and always had a story to tell.
Oren is survived by his wife, Anna Mae, of 65 years; five children, Danny (Libby) Keibler, Nancy (Jack) Bailie, Gary (Faith) Keibler, Sam (Michelle) Keibler, and Linda Guercio; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to give a special thanks to his first home nurse, Lynn, and also Wendy, Holly, and Felicia from Monarch Hospice Care. They all went above and beyond to provide him with the best care possible. Their kindness and compassion helped give him and his family comfort and peace from the beginning of his home care needs to his final days.
A memorial service to honor Oren’s life will be held at Christ’s Lutheran Church, 5330 Logan Ferry Drive, Murrysville, PA 15668, on Saturday, June 8th, at 10:00 am. Following the service, interment will be in Hankey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to his church (listed above) or a charity of your choice.
