Panagiotis "Peter" Dorovenis, 83, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1943, in Argos, Greece.
Peter was preceded in death by his wife Kathrine (Rodites) Dorovenis, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, hard work, and family. He was a devoted father to Angela, Stacey (Mike), and Demetrios; a proud grandfather ("Papou") to Katie (Matt), Stephanie, Adrianna, and Anastasia; and a cherished great grandfather to Angelina, Luka, and Roman.
Peter grew up on a family farm in Argos, Greece, alongside his seven siblings. From humble beginnings, he developed the strong work ethic and deep family values that guided him throughout his life. As a young man, he immigrated to Canada in search of opportunity. On a visit to the States for a wedding he met the love of his life, Kathrine. Together they lived in Canada and built a successful drycleaning business and raised their three children.
Later, Peter and Kathrine moved to America, eventually settling in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, where they could be close to family and part of a strong Greek community. Peter remained deeply devoted to his faith and was an active member of his church, The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, for many years. Known for his dedication and perseverance, he continued working as a dry cleaner until he was in his 70's.
Peter will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and traditions passed down through generations.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May his memory be eternal.
