Perry D. Tackett, a cherished soul born on October 5, 1961, in Cleveland, OH, peacefully passed away on December 7, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and love. Perry's journey in life was marked by a profound dedication to others and a rich tapestry of experiences that shaped him into the remarkable individual we remember today.
A proud veteran, Perry served in the United States Air Force from 1982 to 1986, stationed in both Germany and Italy. His commitment to duty reflected not only in his military service but also in his subsequent career as a Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in wound care. Perry's healing touch and empathetic nature endeared him to countless patients over the years, leaving an indelible mark on the healthcare community.
Beyond his professional life, Perry embraced the simple joys that brought him fulfillment. An avid angler, a trivia enthusiast, and a card game aficionado, Perry found solace and delight in these cherished pastimes. His passion for football was unwavering, and he reveled in the camaraderie of game days. Perry's true joy, however, emanated from the moments spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories that will forever be cherished.
Perry is survived by his loving mother, Eleanor Tackett, and his devoted sisters, Carol (Richard) Whitlinger and Teresa (Ed) Troup. His nephews, Mark (Nikol) Reed, Bill (Trish) Watt, and Zack (Keyona) Whitlinger, and nieces, Brandy (Scott) Ferguson and Raven Troup, carry forward his spirit. Perry's best friend, Christine Mell, held a special place in his heart, and he leaves behind numerous great nieces and nephews who will forever be touched by his warmth and kindness.
Perry is preceded in death by his father, William Tackett, and his nephew, Damon Troup. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he lived, the love he shared, and the indomitable spirit that will forever resonate in our hearts.
