Richard Cable

Richard E. Cable, Age 84, passed away March 11, 2025 peacefully with his family by his side in his home. He was born August 25, 1940 to Jean (Cable) Vogel, Mother, and Herman Vogel, Father (Predeceased).

He graduated from Har Brack High School in 1959. He worked at Kroger Co. 17 years, part-time Brackenridge Police Dept., for 11 years, Westinghouse in West Mifflin and ATI for 15 years. He drove for Mobile Television (NEP) and Fox Water in Cabot, PA.

He was a devoted husband. He worked hard to ensure his family had everything they needed. He truly loved to joke around with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor. He was an avid animal lover. He loved all types of cars. He always kept his vehicle immaculate, clear down to his tractor.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lois (Burford) Cable. Daughters: Kimberly (Dan) Barr, Tracy (Don) Ehrenberger. Son: Jaison (Tracy) Layney.
Brother: Larry (Kathy) Vogel in Texas. Grandchildren: Trisha (Tim) Amy, Bobby (Lindsey) Woods, Nicole Killian and Ryan (Robin) Barr and Noah Layney. Great Grandchildren: Madison (Elijah Goosby) Troutman, Maegan Troutman, Payton & Camryn Woods, and Nariyah Killian. Great Great Grandchild: Ellie Goosby
Sister-in-Law: Jeanne (Ed) Keeney, Nephew: Matthew (Christina) Keeney, and niece Meghan (Chris) Dettling.


Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 14, from 1-3 & 6-8 PM at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington.
F&AM Bethel Lodge #789. Will conduct a masonic service at 6:30 and funeral services will begin at 7:30.
