Richard J. "Dick" Lecocq, 91, of New Kensington, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, with his children by his side. He was born March 31, 1931, in New Kensington, to the late Emil and Viola (Oshnock) Lecocq. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jean (Grosso); his beloved children, Kirt (Amy) Lecocq and Dana (Thomas) Hogan; grandchildren, Eric (Desiree) Lecocq, Matthew Lecocq, Nick (Jackey) Hogan and Phil Hogan; great-grandchildren, Jameson Lecocq, Hailey and Hunter Hogan; along with many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Lecocq, Betty Large, Maryann Faith and Dave Lecocq. Dick was a member of the Army National Guard, president of the Westinghouse Local IBEW Union, chairman of New Kensington Water Authority, president of the Hidden Hills Sportsmen's Club, and NK Democratic Committee Chairman for 40 years. He was a member of the Seventh Street Sportsmen's Club, Polish Lancers Society, VFW Post 92, Elks and Moose. Dick cherished his annual Christmas Eve party at his house for family and friends, trips to Ocean City, his rose garden and camping. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-335-0100. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Church.
