It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Joseph “FABE” Fabian Sr, a cherished husband, father, brother, and a proud veteran. He departed this world on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the age of 81. Born Oct 7, 1942 in New Kensington to the late Joseph and Helen (Brzak) Fabian.
Fabe was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Hussar) Fabian and the loving father of Robert J. Fabian II and Margie (Joseph Dixon) Fabian. He also held a special place in his heart for his late son, Jeremy John Fabian, who left this world at birth. Fabe was a devoted brother to Theodore Fabian and was preceded in death by his brother Richey Fabian. He will also be missed by his aunt Vivian, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A proud veteran, Fabe served in the US Army, showcasing his commitment to his country. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a career as a truck driver for ATI. His dedication to hard work and service was evident throughout his life.
Fabe found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with passions that included hunting, fishing, playing pool, and spending time in the company of friends at local clubs. Whether at the #2 Fireman’s club, VFW, Eagles, American Legion, 7th Street Sportsman’s, or any number of other clubs in the area, Fabe relished the camaraderie and good times shared with those around him. He had a knack for savoring a cold one in any situation that allowed him to avoid the toils of work.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Fabe's life on Tuesday, January 23, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington (724-335-0010).
