Roberta Martha (Lang) Sagath,
101, of Fawn Township, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully at home Saturday, May 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 30, 1923 in Saxonburg to the late Elmer and Eugena (Goslin) Lang.
Martha and her late husband, Louis Sagath, owned Sagath’s Market in Fawn Township for many years. She was a 1941 graduate of Tarentum High School and a graduate of Duffs Iron City Business College. Her first job was with the Tarentum Draft Board (WW2), then Alcoa for two years in the Central Machine Shop. She also worked at Fisher Body in Cleveland, Ohio, during (WW2) building B29 Bombers. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed bowling, swimming, watching and feeding the birds, playing dice and card games, reading her Bible, and the daily newspaper. She attended Center Church where she sang in the choir. She volunteered at the church for many years as well as the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches. She had a strong faith and lived to be Christlike every day. Her true gift of unconditional love and giving touched the lives of so many people in so many ways.
The Lord blessed her with four children: Ronald Sagath of Murrysville, Christine Sagath of Chicago, Illinois, David (Tamara) Sagath of Fawn Township, and Daniel (Cyndi) Sagath of Fawn Township. Grandchildren; Michelle, Brian (Sue), Angela (Joe), Sara, Jeremy (Bethany), Sherry, Brandon, Matthew, and Danny (Shelby). Great-grandchildren; Kimberly, Robert (Nicole), Michael, Lydia, Ellyanna, Ethan, Joshua and Addyson. Great-great-grandchildren; Waylon and Zoie. Stepgrandchildren; Tim (Samantha), Justin, Alyssa, and Cameron. Stepgreat-grandchildren; Landon, Willow and TJ. Also surviving is a sister, Lois Musk, sister-in-law, Joan Lang, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Lang, and her brother-in-law, Edward Musk.
In honor of Martha’s life, family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 until the Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at Center Church, 1575 Donnellville Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. Officiating is the Rev. Drew Myers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Martha may be made to the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
