Ronald H. Forsman
August 10, 1940 – November 10, 2024
Ronald H. Forsman, 84, of New Kensington, PA, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his own home.
Born on August 10, 1940, at home in Arnold, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Herbert and Grace (Beatty) Forsman.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Barbara (Porter) Forsman; his cherished sons, Ronald Forsman Jr. (Nneka) and Paul Forsman; and his treasured grandchildren, Dallas, Katelyn, and Jaxson. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra (Steve) Sokol and Lynette (Robert) Tress; his former daughter-in-law, Gigi; and his sister-in-law, Dee, wife of the late Gilbert Forsman.
A graduate of Arnold High School, Class of 1958, Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh in 1973. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Specialist 4 with the 336th Military Police Battalion.
Ron was a dedicated sports fan who found great joy in cheering on the Pitt Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Professionally, he retired from Scholastica Travel in Greensburg, where he worked in the office and served as a tour director for over 29 years, guiding countless student trips. He and Barbara cherished spending 17 winters at their condo in Florida, and Ron especially loved spending time with his family, who brought him immeasurable happiness—most of all, his three grandchildren.
A man of deep faith, Ron was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Upper Burrell, located at 3740 7th Street Rd, New Kensington, PA 15068. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the church on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Tim Kitchen officiating. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
