In Loving Memory of Ronald E. Sipes

Ronald E. Sipes, aged 87, of Lower Burrell, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born in Kittanning Pa, on January 4, 1936, to the late Lawrence and Mildred (McCracken) Sipes.

Ron was the beloved husband of Judy (Reith) for 29 years before her passing in 2004 and the cherished companion of Sydney Beighley. He was a loving father to Sheryl (Richard) Baker, Scott (Patty Tenney) Walters, Ronald D. (Cathy) Sipes, Mark Sipes and the late infant son.

He was a proud grandfather to seven and a great-grandfather to seven. Ron was also a brother to Sandra Valentine and was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Stanley, George, Ralph, and Richard.

Ron graduated Kittanning High School in 1954 and then went on and served his country with honor in the United States Army as SGT of Motor Pool and was an esteemed member of Bethel Lodge 789 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle. He Retired as the terminal manager for Daily Xpress trucking and played a vital role in the transportation of the Hubble telescope. In his leisure time, Ron pursued his passions, which included hunting, trap shooting, metal detecting, and embarking on memorable fishing trips to Canada and Florida.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday from 2–4 PM and 6–8 PM at RJ Slater IV Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington (724-335-0100). American Legion Post 868 will hold a service at 6:30 followed by Masonic Service at 7 PM during the visitation. Additional viewing will take place on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Dean Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
