Roy K. Michalowsky, 81, of Lower Burrell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on October 6, 1943, in Latrobe, PA, to the late Kurt and Francis (Gabinski) Michalowsky. Roy grew up with a strong sense of family and values that guided him throughout his life.
Roy was the beloved husband of Carol for over 58 wonderful years, sharing a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his adopted nieces, Cindy Bazner and Christine Messina, who held a special place in his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Walter Michalowsky, John Michalowsky, Mary Ann Salser, Patricia Gosling, and Lilian Michalowsky.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Roy spent over 30 years with Blawnox Steel, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. In his later years, he found fulfillment as a committed member of Presbyterian SeniorCare for 15 years, where he formed lasting friendships.
Roy had a passion for life’s simple joys. He was an avid football fan, often cheering for his favorite teams, and he had a deep appreciation for classic cars, which brought him great joy. Above all, Roy had a tender heart for animals, especially his beloved cat, Daisy, who was his constant companion.
His family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to his extended family at Community LIFE for their unwavering support and care, which brought comfort and dignity to Roy’s final years.
