Rudolph Almagnault

February 22, 1930 — October 7, 2025

Rudolph "Rudy" Joseph Almagnault 95, passed away on October 7, 2025. Born February 22, 1930, in Rochester, New York to the late Marie Vincenzo & John Baptiste Almagnault.

Of French and Italian descent Rudy went by "Joey" to his family. He was a high school graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. After graduating he worked for Kodak, the birthplace for consumer photography. From there, he entered US Navy, where he enjoyed sharing stories of the aircraft carriers and ships that he worked on and lived in. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing baseball, football, and ice-skating. He always enjoyed a good old Italian dish.

After some time, he decided to move to a place he'd spend his next 40-50 years in Miami, Florida. He grew tired of the cold and developed a love for the ocean. He met Brenda Mathis at this time who became his wife. He started working for a company in the heart of Miami called Aerosystems Inc. where he worked as a sales rep and supervisor for Aerospace equipment. He worked there for several years before retiring. His real passion in life was with boats and sports cars. He owned a 72-foot yacht that he lived on and entertained friends. He enjoyed buying sailboats and a variety of luxury tender boats. He owned every sports car imaginable at one point or another in his life. He would often joyride in these cars along RT 1 while enjoying the weekend away in the Keys.

As time went on, he met his second wife Melba, and they enjoyed boating, traveling, and buying old fixer up homes and making them beautiful again. They would spend countless hours in the yard together where they were most at peace. He lost Melba in 2005 and then moved to Arizona for several years for a change of scenery. He started developing dementia around 2021 and in 2022 he moved to Pittsburgh to live with his daughter in her home for two years.

His final year was lived in Platinum Ridge nursing home. He was the kindest man and adored by so many. He was proceeded in death by his mother Marie, his father John, his sister Lucy, and his brother Philberto.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Trainham, his son, Todd Almagnault, along with his grandchildren Ava, Sam, and Drew. This man lived long and healthy 95 years and will be missed by many.
