Rudolph Max Gagliardi (Rudy) longtime resident of Arnold, PA passed away on December 8, 2021. He was born July 28, 1929 in Harwick to the late Max and Philomenia Gagliardi. Rudy was a decorated Air Force veteran for 22 years (1951-1973) serving in both the Korean conflict and Vietnam war. He was a 1947 graduate of Arnold High School. Prior to service, he worked at American Shim Steel in New Kensington. Upon discharge in 1973, he worked for the Joseph B. Fay Construction Co. until his retirement in 1991. Rudy enjoyed woodworking, writing, music and dancing. He was a lifetime member of the Fourth Sergeants Association, Retired Enlisted Association and Disabled Veterans of America.
Rudy is survived by Audrey (Erb) his wife of 71 years. They had five children Glenn (Diana), Bobbi (Allan), Louis (Amy), Carolyn (Tim) and Susan (Joe); in addition to 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and his beloved cat “Pierre”. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Nick, Louis, William, Henry and infant Michael; and four sisters Rose, Violet, Emma and Eve; in addition to several nieces and nephews along with one grandson, Justin.
Rudy will be laid to rest in the National cemetery of the Allegheniens on Dec. 15th at 2 Pm. Arrangements will be private and entrusted to RJ Slater IV Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington. www.rjslater.com
