Sharon L. Jessup 1944-2023
Beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Sharon Lorene (Fennell) Jessup of Lower Burrell, passed away on Monday, June 12, in her Lower Burrell home at the age of 78. Born in New Kensington, she attended Ken High, followed by Citizens Nursing School. As a Registered Nurse for over fifty years, she gave care and comfort to countless individuals and families in hospitals, home health care, and home hospice. Her compassion and patience were boundless. She loved animals, her friends, and her family, and enjoyed nature, medicine, conversation, a good murder-mystery, and traveling. Her commitment to her work was commendable, and her commitment to family was stronger still. Sharon hosted and helped organize several years of the Fennell family reunions in Salina and Lower Burrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald S. Jessup, sister Alice I. Rider, and her parents, William L. Fennell and Zona I. (Schnatterly) Fennell. She is survived by her sister-in-law Faye (Harold) Clawson, her sons, Ronald M. Jessup (Melanie Scott) and Ryan S. Jessup, as well as cherished nieces, numerous cousins, and extended family. No public services will be held. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in the memory of the deceased.
