Shirley D Reeping

Shirley D. Reeping, 89, formerly of Leechburg, passed away at The Ridge at Heritage Meadows, in Ford City, on Monday, April 6. Shirley was born June 20, 1936 to James and Ruth Eagleson and became an exceptional academic student involved in many activities and graduating from Leechburg High School in 1954.

She cared deeply about her family and friends and was a devoted mom to sons Keith and Jeffrey and loving grandmother to David. Shirley became a hard-working business woman in her community of Leechburg owning Rock Wonderland and Crafts and later, Ralph's Florist and was active for years in local organizations including the Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department of which she was an honorary life member.

Shirley had a wonderfully infectious laugh and would share her humor, inner strength and positivity with everyone in need of a smile and encouragement. She enjoyed watching her Pittsburgh sports teams, solving crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader of the Valley News. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leonard D. Eagleson, and sons Keith in 1985 and Jeffrey in 2022.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and were blessed by her love and friendship. Special thanks to the staffs at The Ridge at Heritage Meadows and from Amedisys Hospice of Butler for their compassionate care and support of Shirley.

Private interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA. Memorials can be sent to Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department, 268 Canal Street, or Lower Kiski Ambulance, 80 Kiski Avenue, located in Leechburg, PA 15656.
