Thelma June (Johnson) Avila, 89, of Connellsville, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. She was born on June 5, 1931, in Gray, Pa, to the late Walter and Joanna (Moon) Johnson. Beloved wife of the late Eugene Wojtowicz; loving mother of the late Deborah Gaffney; dear sister of ten predeceased siblings. Thelma is survived by sisters, Mary Ann Johnson and Linda Baker; grandchildren Deanna (Michael) Horak, Daniel (Hazel) Avelar, Jennifer Snyder, and Joe (Alyson) Wojtowicz; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11 AM at New Stanton Assembly of God. A private burial will take place in Alverton Cemetery.
