Thomas “Tomee” Patsakis, 86, passed away peacefully in his home on November 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, passion, and unforgettable stories. Born to Kathryn Kokales and Peter Patsakis, Tomee was a loving and devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his son, Peter (Christina) Patsakis from his over 30 year marriage to Patricia Phaturos; his daughter, Kathryn (James) Cummins; and his beloved grandson, Ian Cummins. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his dear sister, Anne M. Vacca and his grandson Ryan Cummins. Thomas was also cherished by his long time best friend, Robin Roman, who stood by his side until the end.
Tomee was a man of many talents and passions. He was known for his warmth, charisma, and distinctive charm—often referred to by his son as the original “most interesting man in the world." For over 50 years, Tomee owned and operated a popular barber shop in Lower Burrell called Ladies and Gentleman’s Quarters, where he built lasting friendships with all who came through his door.
Tomee was a proud member of the United States Army for several years, Tomee served with dedication and a sense of duty. His service was a testament to his commitment to his country and the values of service, honor, and sacrifice.
His adventurous spirit led him on remarkable journeys around the world. Tomee played a part in the film Never on Sunday, which was shot in Greece, a country he held dear to his heart. He hunted octopus in the waters off Greece’s shores and collected an abundance of unique experiences from his travels. Tomee cherished spending time with his family, especially on vacations to the Jersey Shore, where they made countless happy memories together.
Tomee was also a car enthusiast, owning and racing numerous Corvettes throughout his life. He enjoyed driving up and down the coasts of Greece in his Austin-Healey. His love for speed and style was matched only by his passion for music—he produced a record titled “My Little Girl” under the name Tomee Pavan for the Monte Carlo record label.
An avid traveler, Tomee developed a deep appreciation for Native American culture, often visiting Arizona to collect and sell authentic Indian jewelry. These treasures, like his stories, will be remembered by those who knew him.
Above all, Tomee was a loving father and friend, who will be dearly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His adventurous spirit, generosity, and boundless energy will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
